SENIORS' DRIVING LESSONS

'Seniors' Driving Lessons' ( aka 'SDL") is a sole proprietorship. An independent Certified Driving Instructor provides senior students with a confidential Non-Medical Assessment of their current level of safe driving skills. Once determined, continued teaching can be offered safely with in-vehicle lessons to achieve a sustainable safe driving level. 

For the Assessment, student details such as drivers license status, insurance, vehicle ownership, testing dates, etc., are reviewed & noted for accuracy. Completed at the student's home or meeting room. Certainly can include spouse, partner, or family member.

Also, to assist in any (re)scheduling, SDL remains in contact with the Ministry Of Transportation, and we accompany the Senior student to/from road-testing at an acceptable time best suited for the student.

Proper usage of their personal vehicle components, such as foot pedals, instrument panel, and steering wheel, are essential.

Ultimately, it is the objective for the senior student to understand and achieve a safe driving level by learning the two integral conditions of safe driving... speed & direction.

The importance of manoeuvre routine, road markings, signage, and awareness skills of both the road and surroundings, and other users of the road are taught. The Senior student learns the rights & duties as the operator of their vehicle.

Teaching this understanding & application is achieved with in-vehicle practice. After each lesson by in-vehicle instructor observation a written report is provided identifying both weaknesses & strengths. With fairness integrity & promptness this report is provided both verbally & in writing.

SDL always remains in accordance with the Ontario Highway Traffic Act to provide in-vehicle instruction with professional integrity.

SDL provides experienced understanding & mindfulness of the Senior's need for independence & dignity that safe driving skills can provide.
